Chogoro Takayama, the founder of Takayama-sha Sericulture Improvement School, died at the age of 56 in 1886. His grave is located at the back of the family temple, Kozen-in of the Soto sect. Kozen-in is situated on a hill approximately 200 meters southwest of the former Takayama-sha Sericulture School, providing a beautiful view of Takayama-sha Sericulture School and the surrounding area.
Chogoro established the seion-iku sericulture method that balances ventilation, and humidity, and temperature control.
